These "Chakra Blossom" add to the overall damage of the attack by slicing into the target. Should the attack hit, the enemy will suffer both blunt force and penetrative trauma. Should the punch itself miss, Sakura can scatter the petals so as to still cause some form of slash damage. Jutsu: Ōkadan (Cherry Blossom Bullet) Classification: B-Rank, Nintaijutsu, Long-Range Description: A long-ranged version of the Ōkasuisei. By creating Chakra Petals and simply launching them forward, Sakura causes immense penetrative trauma to her opponent.

I always figured it'd make sense for Sasuke to just swap out the Nature Elements he uses for Chidori since it's essentially a Rasengan that Lightning Chakra was not correctly applied to. By using the same method with any other Chakra Nature, it'd have the same effect.
